Our client is the leader in steel structures is now hiring a Quality Control Engineer who will primarily be responsible to ensure that designated procured or manufactured products meet established quality levels, assists in establishing those levels, and ensures that all ISO requirements are met. Initiates corrective action on defective conditions, assists manager in planning and accomplishing quality programs, systems, methods and procedures to produce quality products at a minimum cost.

Major Responsibilities/Activities (List in order of importance the essential functions of the job):
Directs activities of any Quality Control laboratory or outside sources engaged in acceptance and calibration of materials.
Meets with customer representatives to discuss welding and inspection methods and promotes quality programs.
Directs, through subordinate leads, the qualifications of all the welding processes and personnel using those processes.
Performs product failure analysis and develops appropriate corrective action plans.
Explains details of various shop orders to inspectors and assists in the inspection process, aiding in interpretation of contract specifications and welding codes.
Assists in establishing procedures and guidelines for ultrasonic magnetic particle, dye penetration, and visual inspection of welds.
Advises inspectors when inspection methods other than standard are to be used.
Assists QC Manager in establishing manufacturing procedures.
Assists in inspection of the product with all non-destructive testing methods when needed.
Assists production with quality problems on all production related materials.
Audits and enforces compliance to all manufacturing and NDT procedures.
Monitors work output, accuracy, and overall performance of inspectors.
Coordinates third party inspection with the production schedule; coordinates their inspection techniques and results with company inspection results.
Assists and works with customer representatives when they visit or tour plant and gives NDT demonstrations.
Initiates and completes pertinent inspection reports.
Assists Production Supervisor in interpreting blueprints, manufacturing procedures and inspections procedures.
Notifies Plant Manager and Production Manager of product quality problems, and reports them to the QC Manager.

Basic Qualifications (Include education, experience, special skills and licenses or certifications required):
Bachelors Degree, or combination of vocational training and related work experience.
5+ years related work experience preferred in manufacturing environment
Product knowledge of metal fabrication
Welding certification (CWI) and Ultrasonic Testing experience preferred.
Non Destructive Testing (NDT) Level II or III preferred.

Additional Comments:
This position requires use of hard hat, safety toe shoes, safety glasses and hearing protection while in plant facility.
Excellent eye sight and hearing abilities.
8+ hours of sitting, standing, walking or squatting. Employee may be asked to lift and carry 60 lbs. occasionally.
Able to work in variable weather conditions and temperatures.
Exposed to magnetic field while in plant facility.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
