Great opportunity to work for a leader in structural products - our client is looking for an experienced welding technician trainer to test applicants and train production employees in welding and fitting processes and techniques. You will communicate welding techniques, procedures and applications of welding equipment of production specification, properties and characteristics of metals and metal alloys and engineering principles.

Responsibilities:
Develop and adhere to cohesive training plans for new employees
Conduct welder qualification tests in accordance to specific ISO procedures and applicable codes.
Develop and or modify existing ISO procedures for Fitters and Welders using all known best practices.
Audit technical aspects of production welding operation to maintain and improve quality and efficiency standards; pinpoint and solve problems.
Improve existing or develop new or modify current welding methods, techniques, and procedures.
Establish recommendations for improved welder/fitter performance and follow through and manage projects for performance improvement with each employee. Document progress and give recommendation to management for each employee development.
Establish welding procedures to guide production and welding personnel relating to specification restrictions, material processes, pre-and post-heating requirements which involve use of complex alloys, unusual fabrication methods, and welding of critical joints. Evaluate new developments in welding field for possible application to current welding problems or production processes.
Responsibility will include implementing other facilities methods, coaching and training employees on welding changes.
Direct and coordinates technical personnel in performing inspections to ensure workers compliance with established welding procedures, restrictions, and standards; in testing welds for conformance with national code requirements; or testing welding personnel for verification.
Contact personnel of other agencies, engineering personnel, or clients to exchange ideas, information, or offer technical advice concerning welding matters. Will perform experimental welding to evaluate new equipment, techniques, and materials.
Plan and establish sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble products and promote efficient utilization.
Effectively communicate welding manufacturing concepts, some of which are of a complex nature, to all levels from Operators to Management.
Ensure compliance with department policies and procedures and applicable laws, rule and regulations.
Perform safety, health, and environmental inspections; inspect equipment, and lead special projects as assigned. Investigate and resolve safety issues.
Responsible for continuous improvement in safety, quality and productivity and proactive in improvements; be able to provide documentation for improvement with before/after metrics that demonstrate improvements.
Flexibility to work any shift for training as well as covering for Supervision on regular shifts and weekend overtime.
Lead special projects and other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications (Include education, experience, special skills and licenses or certifications required):
Associate degree in Welding from a college or technical school and 1 - 4 years of experience in manufacturing environment.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Computer proficient (Spreadsheets, Word processing, Project scheduling, Presentations (Power Point), with good organizational skills.
Bilingual (English and Spanish)
Hands on experience with the following weld processes: FCAW, GMAW, and SAW
Experience troubleshooting welding related problems
Experience working with AWS D1.1 structural welding code-steel

Preferred
Qualifications:
CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) certification preferred, CWE (Certified Weld Educator certification required.
Previous work experience in this field or combination of work and experience.

Relocation offeredEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
